Aikens Lake Wilderness Lodge wins prestigious award
Apr 12, 2011
It's official! The ballots are in. Aikens Lake Wilderness Lodge is bestowed the honor of the 2010 Manitoba Tourism Award for Service Excellence!
The 13th annual Tourism Awards Gala, held at the Delta hotel in downtown Winnipeg, assembled all the nominees from around the province for the evening's banquet and award ceremony. Hosted by local celebrity Fred Penner, the evening was filled with fun, music and suspense. Nine different awards were handed out through out the evening. Aikens was nominated along with three other service oriented tourism products. All those at the Aikens table held their breath as the presenter listed the nominees and finally opened the envelope.
Pit and Julie accepted the award with great big smiles. This honor is a testament to the tireless efforts that the Turenne & Jensen families (Gerry & Lorraine too, of course) have put forward in ensuring that each guest's stay is everything and more that they'd hoped for. From the large upgrades in accommodations and boats, to the extra staff brought in and a renewed focus on customer service, exceptional service is the core strength around which all other benefits of the "Aikens Experience" adhere to. To be chosen and identified by our industry's peers compounds our efforts in always aiming to exceed expectations.
Congrats to the whole Aikens team! Your hard work and attention to detail have merited you a much deserved recognition!
