We’re excited to share that Aikens Lake Wilderness Lodge has entered into a new partnership with Adventure Air as our floatplane service provider.

Adventure Air brings a strong reputation for safety, professionalism, and reliability, and we’re confident this partnership will enhance your travel experience to and from Aikens. We’re always looking for ways to improve every part of your stay — and that starts the moment you step on the plane.

We look forward to welcoming you aboard with this new team as part of the Aikens experience.

Flying commercially into Winnipeg: We will have our driver waiting for you after you pass through the luggage claim area at the Winnipeg Airport. If you arrive the night before your trip, our driver will pick you up at your hotel. The drive to the Adventure Air floatbase will take 90 minutes. From there, Aikens is a short 35-minute floatplane flight away!

Flying privately on wheels: For those who fly into Lac Du Bonnet (CYAX) on a private plane, our float planes will literally be a few hundred yards from your landing strip. There is a 3,604 ft asphalt landing strip at CYAX.

HOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS NEAR ADVENTURE AIR'S FLOATBASE:

For those of you driving to the floatbase. Adventure Air’s main base is located 60 miles Northeast of Winnipeg at the Municipal Airport in Lac du Bonnet, MB.

If you plan to arrive later than 4pm, an overnight stay will be required. The closest hotels, and those that are nearby are:

Drifter’s Inn located minutes from the base, on the corner of Highway 11 and Highway 313. 204-345-2915.

Lac House Inn located under 10 minutes from the base along highway 11. 204-345-9000

ON THE WAY:

South Beach Casino (about halfway between Winnipeg and Adventure Air floatbase - north of Winnipeg on Highway 59) Located about 45 minutes from the floatbase. 204-766-2100

Breezy Oak Inn. Located about 40 minutes from the floatbase. Slightly different route, but takes the same amount of time. From Highway 59 North, turn right on Provincial Road 44. Turn Right onto Park Ave in Beausejour. 204-268-9050

To get to the base the next morning, head East on Highway 44. Turn left onto Milner Ridge Rd (at the Seddon’s Corner Store). Turn left onto Highway 11. Drive West a short distance and turn right onto Highway 313 (just after Drifters Inn Restaurant and gas station). Drive 1 mile and turn left at the Adventure Air Float Base sign (onto Airport Road). Follow the gravel road 1 mile to the Adventure Air office.
