2024 Fishing report
Jan 15, 2025
They arrived in droves, in clusters, by the dozens—an unstoppable force, pouring into the waters. Pod after pod, they surged into the bays, meandered through creeks, and carved their way up rivers, swarming the depths like an ancient tide.
They saw the icy cap lose its grip and felt the heat begin its relentless march. Some spawned, some basked lazily in the warm backwaters, others scoured the bottom, but one thing was certain—they all fed.
They watched as the float plane soared overhead, its hum cutting through the crisp air. Below, the twin wakes of its pontoons sliced through the water, a silent herald of the approaching hunt. The unmistakable roar of the tuned four-stroke outboards grew louder. The chase was imminent.
At Aikens Lake Wilderness Lodge, we’ve stacked the deck in your favour. With the finest equipment, our skilled guides put the advantage firmly on our guests' side. Our lake, rich with pristine Canadian freshwater, teems with some of the finest fishing to be had. Those fortunate enough to experience it can attest that fishing on Aikens Lake is the stuff of legends.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a golden glow over another incredible year at the lake, the sport fish still lurked beneath the surface—feeding, spawning, and growing ever bigger. Some have been immortalized in photos; others have left us longing for the next bite. But all of them have made their mark. Some sport a new piercing in their upper lip, while others chuckle after outwitting a poorly timed hook set. And then there are the giants, the ones we’ve yet to meet—the true monsters of the deep, waiting for their turn to bite.
Can’t wait to get back out there next year, eh!?
