Many Caribou Sightings

This year has been an unusually great season for spotting the rare Woodland Caribou on the shores of Aikens Lake. Bucks, Cows, Calves, and combinations of these have been seen roaming the western shores of the lake. Some have been spotted as they are swimming to new destinations. The name of our Provincial Park is Atikaki which is a Native American (Cree) word meaning "Land of the Caribou". We are adjascent to the "Woodland Caribou Provincial Park" in Ontario. The Woodland Caribou is a rare and endangered species that is quite a sight to behold! Here is a shot taken by one of our guides earlier this season...
