Every year, we employ up to 25 of Manitoba's finest resort workers. One thing that we've been able to ascertain from past years is that our staff is dying for the chance to show their work place to their families, and maybe brag a little bit while they're at it! This year, we decided to block off the July long weekend to allow the staff to bring their parents and other family members to Aikens Lake. The whole event was very well received and a total of 27 people came for the weekend. It was a chance to showcase our lodge to the families of those who make the "Aikens Experience" so special. The bottom line was this: We hoped to be able to show the families that we took good care of their sons/daughters/nieces/nephews/grandchildren... but in reality it was the families who got to see how well our staff took care of us and our guests. That's what makes Aikens so special... our staff is the best in the business, hands down! I would like to thank everyone who participated in the first annual "Friends and family weekend". It really was a great experience for everyone, and we hope to do it again in the future!
